When snapper season is open in Louisiana, Venice is where serious anglers go to fill the box—and fast. With red snapper holding close to the river, you won’t need a long boat ride to find the action. If the weather’s right, we’re fishing just offshore. Go a bit farther, and you’re into deeper spots stacked with heavy hitters.
These fish pull hard, eat well, and offer a non-stop bite when they’re fired up. Plus, red snapper make excellent table fare, always a favorite among anglers and non-anglers alike.
Plus, we catch red snapper on conventional reels, jigs, and/or on electric reels to accommodate all ages and experience levels.
